Tourism associations of Mongolia and Japan meet 2016-05-31 15:23
The Deputy Director of Outbound Travel and Development Department of the Japan Association of Travel Agents (JATA), Sakai Hidenoei, and the Deputy Director of the Mongolian Council under JATA, Toru Nishiyama, visited Mongolia and met with representatives of the Mongolian Tourism Association and the Japanese Council under the association, as well as representatives of MIAT Mongolian Airlines on the 28th of this month.
During the meeting, the Japanese side presented trends in tourism development and the operations report of the Mongolian Council under JATA and raised many important issues, including lack of flight capacity, infrastructure, safety, comfort and information, as well as travel resources.
The Mongolian side shared its views about the current situation of Mongolian tourism, the position of the MTA and future areas of cooperation. The Mongolian side proposed to cooperate on the implementation of the tasks included in the National Tourism Development Programmme approved last December and to co-organise major events in regions offered by Mongolia in accordance with Japanese standards. In addition, the MTA informed that the two sides have agreed to bolster the operations of Mongolian-Japanese councils by regularly exchanging information and developing a plant to co-implement tasks.
After the meeting, representatives of the two sides visited the new international airport being built in Khushig Valley.
